I am a 2008 graduate of East Tennessee State University. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6). I earned my Masters of Science in Reading from East Tennessee State University in 2013. I am additionally certified as a Reading Specialist. I am currently working toward my ELL endorsment.

The 2017-2018 school year will be my tenth year of teaching. I was blessed to spend my first 7 years with a wonderful first grade team at LHE. Three years ago, I moved to the position of Reading Specialist. I am looking forward to the opportunities this new role will offer.

My name is Krista Linkous. I am 31 years old and a resident of Hawkins County. I am blessed to be a Reading Specialist at Lincoln Heights Elementary. In addition to teaching, I serve on the instructional leadership team, coordinate the Literacy Team, and serve as the Title I coordinator. I have the greatest job in the world. I am getting married to my fiance, Josh this fall. This will also mean moving further away.  I love my job and it will be worth every second of my hour drive to and from school each day.

I am also a college-level instructor for East Tennessee State University via the Walter State CC campus. I work with pre-service teachers in the area of reading curriculum and instruction. It is so rewarding to work with these energetic students as they prepare for a classroom of their own.

When I am not at school, I enjoy dancing with my competitive clogging team. I have danced with this team since I was in first grade. I also teach beginner clogging classes for all ages at our studio.
